Our location

Wintercircus is situated in the vibrant city center of Ghent. We are a stone’s throw awayfrom key landmarks like De Krook, Viernulvier (Vooruit), Gent Zuid, De Kouter and the iconic towers of the city. Our unique building connects the old and the new, blending its rich history with a forward-thinking community and a myriad of spaces and things to do.

Walk in through any of our three public entrances

Wintercircus has three public entrances: the main one at Lammerstraat 13, perfect for accessing our food and drink venues; a second at Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 11; and the third at Miriam Makebaplein 2, next to city library De Krook. All three offer direct access to our public city square: The Arena.

Visit us by public transport

Wintercircus is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest stops to Wintercircus are Bagattenstraat (bus), Gent Zuid (bus and tram), and Vogelmarkt (tram).

If you're coming from Gent-Sint-Pieters train station, take tram 1 towards Evergem and get off at Plateaustraat.

From Gent-Dampoort train station, take bus 70 / 76 / 5 / 6 towards the city centre and get off at the Zuid stop.

Busses and trams run every day until 1 a.m. To plan your trip, you can use De Lijn's handy route planner app.

Visit us by bike

Ghent is a bike-friendly city, and Wintercircus is easily accessible by bike. You can park in Bicycle Parking De Krook, located underneath Library De Krook, right next to our west entrance on Miriam Makebaplein 2.

This is a covered bicycle parking area spread across levels -1 and -2, with space for 542 bicycles, including 30 oversized bikes.

The parking is accessible via the bike ramp and bike elevator at Miriam Makebaplein and via Korianderstraat.

The bicycle parking is free and open 24/7.

Entering Wintercircus by bike is prohibited.

Reach us by car

Ghent’s inner city (the area within the ring road) is a low-emission zone (LEZ). Foreign license plates must be registered, and we advise checking whether your vehicle is allowed.

The nearest car park (Zuid underground car park) is located underneath Woodrow Wilsonplein, outside the low-emission zone, and just a 2-minute walk from Wintercircus.

Although Wintercircus once hosted over 900 cars, it is no longer possible to enter or park in our building.

Access with a wheelchair

We strive to make Wintercircus accessible to everyone. Below is a summary of our wheelchair access points:

Main Entrance (Lammerstraat 13) and East Entrance (Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 11): Both offer wheelchair-accessible routes to the Arena and our food and drink venues.

Bakker Klaas: Easily accessible from the Arena and via the main entrance. Please note there is a step at the door behind the glass elevator.

Bar Bougie: Fully accessible via the Arena or the main entrance, without limitations.

Bar Bassie: Accessible via the glass elevator to floor +4. Assistance is required to use an additional elevator to reach floor +3.5. Tribune: Accessible via the elevator to floor +4.

Sakas: Unfortunately, Sakas is not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Startup Campus and Collective: For wheelchair access, please use the west entrance at Miriam Makebaplein 2.

Discover Wintercircus with a guided tour

On Saturdays, we offer guided tours of Wintercircus with Gentse Gidsen and Gandante for groups of up to 20. While weekday tours are unavailable, you’re always welcome to visit the Arena, our events and enjoy our food and drink options.
